The Ski Federation of Ukraine
In 2016 the Ski Federation of Ukraine, founded in 1991 after the USSR dissolved, celebrated its 25th anniversary. Although the main achievements of Ukrainian skiers are concentrated in Cross-country and Freestyle Aerials, the skiers have also been working hard in Alpine Skiing.
Almost 20 years ago Nickolay Skriabin finished 12th at the Nagano Olympic Games and Yuliya Kharkivska was 20th at the same games. Today, the Alpine National Ski Team is working hard to reach ambitious goals, first of which is to represent Ukraine at the next Olympic Winter Games in the speed disciplines and then to build a good base for the young champions of tomorrow. Six athletes of the Ski Team participated in the last FIS Alpine World Ski Championships and are currently fighting for the Olympic license for the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics.
The President of the Federation is Mr. Ihor Mitiukov.
